Jacqueline Baker
Ambassador - South East

Jacqueline’s professional recruitment experience includes over 10 years in 2 specialist areas, handling senior level appointments. She combined her expertise from ‘headhunting’ in the City of London (following an earlier banking career) with a decade’s experience as a Chair of Governors, to move into the specialist area of leadership recruitment in education.

Having gained experience with a national organisation she set up her own business to offer professional, bespoke recruitment support to schools and academies, having seen many examples of poor practice and watched significant sums of valuable school funds wasted as a result. This is a situation she aims to reverse, as she believes recruitment should be an investment, not a cost.

She is a trained performance coach and specialises in supporting senior leaders new in posts.  To promote robust and safe recruitment procedures, she has designed and delivered training programmes to both governors and aspiring leaders at a national level in the complex recruitment process in education.

The ethos and Code to which the IOR aspire in raising standards in recruitment is a way of working that Jacqueline strongly endorses, she took the role of Regional Director to support this drive of improvement within the industry, believing that the success of any venture depends on the initial, sound recruitment of good, relevant staff.
